Spiritual Ramblings of Emily

While reading the March Ensign tonight my thoughts went to my friends and the millions of others who read the Ensign monthly and have the same lessons we are having in our Relief Society and how we all get something different out of what we are reading, hearing or learning. For example: Sunday at church a lesson was taught about how to react to those whom say things about the church that aren't correct. I privately leaned over to a friend and said, either I am doing something wrong, but I have never had to defend my religion so I'm not getting much out of this lesson. I left it at that and went home to relax and start the week. A few days later I was back on the phone with my good friend whom I was sitting by in Relief Society and she was telling me how inspirational the lesson was to her on Sunday and how it has helped her to get through a family ordeal that has really been on her mind and eating at her lately. As I got off the phone with her I thought to myself, isn't it incredible that we are all different and unique and that a talk given by one individual can be taken and used in so many different ways. I want my good friend to know (she knows who she is) that once again she has inspired me. I am thankful for my ward and all my friends in it who inspire me on a weekly basis. For you I am grateful. I shall always treasure the friendships and unique personalities we all have. My life would be boring if I didn't have the input of so many to say, "well I saw it this way, or I heard it this way, or take this perspective on it." Thank you to one and all. Mostly thank you to my Heavenly Father who gave me what I have to learn with. Goodnight!!!!
